The first Youth Team arrived on the scene for the 1998/99 season thanks to Keith Brown. (By 2000 the Under 14s and Under 15s were taking shape - Brighton Under 15s impressed when they were runners-up in the prestigious University Vandals Sevens Tournament in London))

APRIL 2000 -2001

Keith's team went on to become the club's first County Junior Cup winners, when they overcame Haywards Heath 22 - 7 in the Sussex Under 16s final at William Parker School, Hastings, little more than 12 months after the formation of the youth section.

Team Captain, Dan Rosen had been selected for England so Captaincy was taken over by Alan Richardson, after the group stages, who helped lead  the team to victory.

Dan who played hooker was picked for the England U16s squad following a final trial at Worcester.  He went on to Oxford University and is the youngest player to become an Oxford Blue.
