Mini Rugby Since 1999
January 1999 and the Mini Section consisted of just two players, Kris Whitlock and Scott Dermott. The club still had three pitches and no formal road to the clubhouse.
By March 1999 the Minis had grown to 46 in number and teams at Under 7s and Under 10s played in the East Sussex Festival at Uckfield for the first time in the club's 131 year history. As teams hadn't yet been formed in the other Mini age groups, Burgess Hill let the club's remaining players guest for them in the Festival.

After recruitment in schools and summer training Brighton formed an under 11s squad, but they had to wait until October 3 for their first fixture against Hellingly. By that time, the club also had squads at Under 8s, Under 10s and Under 12s to face the East Sussex Club.
November 2000 saw Brightons Minis first triangular fixture against Crowborough and Haywards Heath. They then entered the Sussex Minis Festival.
